Arijit Singh is an Indian playback singer. He is one such great singer whose music is immensely loved by everyone. He has contributed to all genres of singing. His beautiful voice touches the soul whenever he sings. He has lent his melodious voice in many movies and most of his songs have become blockbusters. He shot to fame in 2005 by participating in an Indian reality singing show ‘Fame Gurukul’. The singer was could not make it to win the show. He assisted famous music director Pritam Chakraborty and changed his destiny in the music arena. He rose to fame with his song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from the blockbuster movie “Aashiqui 2”. It was no looking back from then.
Arijit Singh Biography
He was born on 25 April 1987 in Murshidabad in West Bengal, India. He did his schooling from Raja Bijay Singh High School and graduation from Sripat Singh College. Arijit got his primary education in music by his maternal uncle and aunt. He learned classical music by Rabindra Sangeet and pop music by Rajendra Prasad Hazari. He also learned tabla from Dhirendra Prasad Hazari. Arijit loves to ride cycle, read books, and do photography. He has been a decent student but he was more inclined towards music since his early childhood, that’s why his father let him to build up his career in music and managed proper music training for his son.
Arijit Singh Family
He hails from West Bengal. His father is from Punjab and mother hails from Bengal. His father was an LIC agent and mother is a home-maker. He got his motivation in singing from his family as his grandmother, mother and sister are trained singers. His family has always supported him to pursue his passion as the whole family was inclined towards music. In the year 2014, Arijit tied the knot to his childhood friend Koel Roy.
Arijit Singh Career Turning Point
In 2011, he made his singing debut in Bollywood with the song ‘Phir Mohabbat’ from the movie ‘Murder 2’. He has sung many songs in Bollywood movies. Most of his songs are all-time blockbusters with millions of views on YouTube. But his career’s turning point was his song ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from the movie ‘Aashiqui 2’ in 2013. The song has won many awards and it was no looking back for him from then onwards.
